Huge success for Tykes’ Cashback scheme

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

The Cashback scheme was first introduced by the Tykes last season which gave clubs and schools opportunities to attend Tykes home fixtures and raise funds. As long as the is a group attending with at least 10 members, the Tykes will give back to that organisation 50% of the money they spent on ticket sales less the VAT.

The money raised helps clubs and schools pay for balls, coaching sessions, rugby kit, tours, or whatever they may be saving for. The scheme helps to put something back in to grass roots rugby and help develop the game throughout Yorkshire.

Speaking about the success of the scheme this season, Nick Fletcher, the Tykes Marketing Manager said, “We have been overwhelmed by the response we have had from schools and clubs this season. Not only do we get local schools and clubs attending our games but we get organisations attending from throughout Yorkshire.

"People have been coming across from Pontefract, Doncaster, Sheffield, Hull, Rotherham, the list is nearly endless, which just goes to show that we areYorkshire’s Premier Rugby Club. We have even had Oakham School from the Midlands and Barnard Castle School in County Durham come and support us on occasions.

"The support we have had has been tremendous and it is nice to see these groups gaining valuable funds by attending Tykes games. Leeds Grammar School have their First XV touring South Africa in the summer, and so they have been able to save money for this by coming along to Headingley and watching the Tykes taking on the Premiership’s finest.”
