Injury woes continue for Wood

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

This is another major blow for the front-rower whose career has been blighted by injury in recent seasons, Wood only recently making a comeback from a neck injury sustained while playing for his country against Russia in a World Cup qualifier last year.

Wood's 2002 Six Nations campaign was also severely disrupted by injury, the hooker only featuring in Ireland's final match, against France. He also missed all of Ireland's November internationals in 2002.

“It is disappointing and frustrating for Keith that he has suffered this minor problem so soon after coming back from his previous injury,” said Mike Scott, NEC Harlequins team manager.

"However, it is good news that the arthroscopy was a success and we look forward to seeing Keith back in action just as soon as he is fit.”
