Alex King got his side’s opening half off to a scoring start with a penalty after nine minutes, two minutes later Paul Sampson beginning the rout with the first try, King adding the conversion.
With little paying off for Irish, Rob Howley rubbed salt into their wounds with Wasps’ second try and there was still time for Shane Roiser to add a third before the break as the vistors went in 24-0 up at the interval.
After the break Wasps completed their day’s work as they secured the crucial bonus point, former All Black prop Craig Dowd getting his third try in two games on 57 minutes.
To their credit London Irish refused to give up the fight and Mike Worsley struck back with a try just a minute later before back-rower Declan Danaher grabbed two more before the end to give the scoreline some respectibility but the day belonged well and truly to Warren Gatland’s Wasps.
