Wasps moved off the bottom of the GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP table with their first win of the season.
Two first-half tries for Wasps, scored by George Skivington and Danny Cipriani, helped the hosts into a 15-3 lead, which was trimmed to 15-9 at the turnaround by a brace of Eoghan Hickey penalties.
But a second-half effort from Tom Voyce secured a welcome victory for Wasps – although a bonus point proved elusive as the fourth try refused to come.
Voyce’s try two minutes after the restart proved crucial in enabling the home side to maintain control of the contest.
It was converted by Mark van Gisbergen, who scored the remainder of Wasps’ points with three penalties and two conversions.
Delon Armitage crossed for the Exiles but Wasps had the last word through Van Gisbergen’s third penalty.
The visitors’ Topsy Ojo was sin-binned in the 57th minute, while team-mate Bob Casey followed him four minutes from time.
And Wasps’ Eoin Reddan was also sin-binned two minutes from the end of this contest, which was watched by 6,629 at Adams Park.
