Saracens show Shoguns the way

Saracens show Shoguns the way

After his off-season move from champions Leicester, Goode took on much of the scoring burden for new coach Buck Shelford’s side, recording a full house with a try, three conversions, two penalties and a drop-goal.

Australian Shane Drahm kept the home side in touch with five penalties and a conversion, with England wing David Rees and Argentine fly-half Felipe Contepomi their try-scorers in a game which did not even yield a bonus point in coach Peter Thorburn’s maiden Premiership outing.

Saracens fired on all cylinders however, their free-running play seeing tries for fit-again fullback Thomas Castaignede, Tom Shanklin and two for Irish wing Darragh O’Mahony to add to Goode’s effort, bagging the Londoners a four-try bonus point to add to their win.
