No break, but what is wrong with Jonny?

Wilkinson hurt himself in the 53rd minute after making a tackle on Northampton's former All Black winger Bruce Reihana, collapsing into a heap on the turf, before clutching his troublesome right shoulder and neck region when he finally left the field, the same injury that has kept him out of action since the Rugby World Cup Final on November 22.

Initial fears were that Wilkinson had broken his shoulder and would miss the 2004 RBS Six Nations, but a press release from the Newcastle Falcons late on Sunday evening confirmed that there was no fracture.

Rob Andrew, Newcastle's Director of Rugby, said: "We can confirm that there isn't a fracture to Jonny's shoulder, however, there is some soft tissue damage which we won't know the extent of until he sees the specialist later in the week."

Wilkinson's injury was not the only serious one of the weekend, with Bath's hard-running centre Mike Tindall picking up an ankle injury that will see him miss England's RBS Six Nations campaign next year.
