Harlequins flyhalf Paul Burke added 21 points through his accurate right boot, while his Saracens counterpart, Andy Goode, a late replacement in the starting line-up for the injured Tim Horan, contributed 22 points via two tries, three conversions and two penalties.
Saracens out-scored their hosts by four tries to three, but Burke's boot, coupled with Sarries' ill-disciplined, proved to be the difference between the two sides in what can only be described as a ding-dong battle.
The lead changed hands on numerous occasions, but Quins held a 33-20 lead going into the final quarter before tries from Thomas Castaignède and Goode, both of which were converted by the latter, gave the scoreline some respectability.
