The likes of Phil Vickery, Trevor Woodman and James Simpson-Daniel missed the match after their efforts for England at Twickenham on Saturday, but the Cherry and Whites nonetheless managed to run in five tries against an Exiles side once again overly-reliant on the boot of Irishman Barry Everitt for their points.
Everitt struck four penalties and a conversion to add to their penalty try, but it was Gloucester’s running game which produced five different try-scorers in the end.
The first came as early as the fourth minute through Adam Eustace, while they had to wait until after the break for Samoan Junior Paramore to get the second.
While the boot of French fly-half Ludovic Mercier kept the scoreboard ticking over, it was not until the 64th minute that England squad flanker James Forrester – left out of the All Black Test – grabbed the third.
A bonus point was ensured four minutes later when South African Jake Boer went over, and the scoring was completed by Argentine Rodrigo Roncero deep into injury-time, as Gloucester go six points clear at the top of the table.
