Bath still top after Sarries win

Barkley opened his side's account in the fifth minute with his first penalty and with Bath's pack exerting huge pressure on their counterparts, it was to be a good day for the No.10 and his team.

Apart from a single penalty from Saracens fly-half Andy Goode, it was one-way traffic all day, as Bath built up plenty of momentum to despatch their opponents.

Barkley kicked two further penalties in the first half, while back rower Michael Lipman also crashed over in the corner for a try after a botched throw-in by Saracens at a line-out.

While the second half saw Saracens play some better rugby, they could not finish off their few scoring opportunities and a late points flurry from Bath sealed the visitors' fate.

Two further penalties from Barkley and a late try from Alex Crockett ensured that Bath continue their unbeaten early season run.

The scorers:

For Bath:Tries: Crockett, LipmanPens: Barkley 5

For Saracens:Pen: Goode
