Both Waldouck and Webber have quickly evolved into senior squad members, accruing 155 appearances and a Guinness Premiership and Heineken Cup between them. Webber in particular is no stranger to the leadership role, having captained Wasps on four separate occasions last season before Rees returned from injury.
On the international stage the duo have also established themselves, both travelling with England on the 2010 tour to Australia and New Zealand and both retaining a place in Martin Johnson's current squad; Webber named in the Saxons and Waldouck promoted to the Elite set up.
Waldouck's promotion to the England Elite squad follows and impressive run of form on the domestic stage and a strong performance on the summer tour. The centre has become one of the crowd's favourites and is highly regarded by all in the game as a consistent and exciting talent so the news of his commitment to the Club is well received by all in black and gold.
On announcing Webber and Waldouck as Vice Captains, Director of Rugby Tony Hanks said, "As a squad we are fortunate to have a great depth of leaders. Both Dom and Rob have developed through our Academy ranks and are now highly regarded as central senior figures who have taken on increasing roles of responsibility behind the scenes. There is a great respect level for both these players across the squad and management and along with Tom Rees and we feel we have a great leadership force.
"Our thanks also go to last year's Vice Captains Phil Vickery and Serge Betsen who have been, and continue to be exceptional leaders around the Club. They set a strong example both on and off the field last season and have fully encouraged and supported the appointment of Waldouck and Webber alongside our Captain."
On Waldouck signing with the Club for the next three years, Hanks added, "We are delighted to retain the services of such a high calibre player. Dom is one of our most consistent performers and has developed his game alongside fellow centres Steve Kefu and Ben Jacobs this season. His contribution to the Club goes way beyond the efforts seen on the pitch. He is a very strong Club man who has been a proactive leader both on and off the pitch. His performances on the domestic stage last season enabled him to show his ability and potential on the international scene with England in the summer - duly rewarded with a place in the Elite squad. It is good news for all in black and gold that he has shown that commitment to the Club for the next three years."
