The competition sees Leeds Carnegie pooled with Newcastle Falcons, Sale Sharks and hosts Leicester Tigers, with the top two teams on the night progressing through to the finals event in Bath.
The Leeds Carnegie squad is made up of Academy players but Luffman believes that the opportunity to play at Welford Road will bring the best out of the squad. He commented, "This is a fantastic opportunity for the lads. As a club we are proud of our record of giving young players the opportunity to perform on the biggest stages and that often brings the best out of them. Playing at Welford Road on a Friday night under the floodlights will be special and something to savour for these guys. I know them very well, not just from their time at Leeds, but the majority of them played at Otley last season. They are a talented bunch and I am excited about Friday nights action."
Leeds will open up against Sale Sharks before taking on the hosts in their second game and finally facing Newcastle Falcons to conclude the night.

Alex Black - DOB: 13/03/90 - Place of Birth: Inverness - Position: Scrum half - School: Thirsk and Prince Henrys - Former clubs: Harrogate and Ripon
Young Leeds scrum half Alex Black is a former pupil at Prince Henry's Grammar School in Otley, the school that also produce England scrum half Danny Care. He was the first player to come through a rugby scholarship scheme at the school and join up with Leeds Carnegie. He combines his playing career in the Leeds Academy with studying for a Sports Performance degree at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Before joining Leeds Carnegie Alex played for Harrogate and Ripon. He has won representative honours with Scotland at U17, U18, U19 and U20 level, most recently this summer at the Junior World Championships in Argentina.
Joe Barker - DOB: 14/05/91 - Place of Birth: Wakefield - Position: Centre - School: QEGS - Former club: Sandal RUFC
Wakefield born Joe Barker joined Leeds Carnegie's Academy in 2004. Joe played his early rugby with Sandal RUFC and won representative honours with England at U16 and U18 level, captaining the U18's for a match against Argentina. Joe's favourite TV programme is Family Guy and he supports his local Rugby League team Wakefield Wildcats. He attends Leeds Metropolitan University.
Oli Denton - DOB: - Place of Birth: York - Position: Centre - School: St Peters York - Former club: Malton & Norton
20-year-old Oli Denton is the younger brother of Tom Denton, who is also part of the Leeds Carnegie Academy. The young centre has made a big impact since joining the club in 2007. He began his playing career at fly half but later converted to the wing where he has flourished. He is extremely quick and agile and has the ability to break the line and change games.
Oli was educated at St Peters School in York and has plenty experience of playing 7's rugby. In 2008 he was part of the side who won the Hymers 7's, Ampleforth 7's and Mount St Mary's 7's. He also won the Yorkshire Cup in 2009. He was part of the Leeds Carnegie squad who played in the Middlesex Sevens in 2009 also.
Oli Stedman - DOB: 20/06/91 - Place of Birth: Basingstoke - Position: Back Row - School: Kings Tynemouth - Former clubs: Westoe, Percy Park
Oli Stedman joined the Leeds Academy after moving to the city to go to university at Leeds Met. A talented sportsman, as a youngster he was part of the Newcastle United Academy and was also on the books of Durham CCC before concentrating solely on his rugby. He is the second youngest member of the Leeds Carnegie senior first team squad having joined up with the first team this summer for pre-season training.
Richard Beck
Leeds-born Richard Beck is a back row in the XV man game and a former pupil at Leeds Grammar School. He took a year out after finishing school and played at Harrogate before last season playing for Otley under Leeds Academy coaches Diccon Edwards and Mark Luffman.
Alex Reider
Originally from North Yorkshire, Alex is former pupil at Giggleswick School and was part of the successful Yorkshire U20 side that captured the County title last season. He can play anywhere in the back row and was part of the Leeds U19 side who won the senior Yorkshire Cup two years ago. A robust defender, he is a powerful ball carrier.
Toby Quarendon
Toby is the latest recruit to the Academy having signed along with fellow centre Oli Richards from Harlequins at the end of last season. He joined the Academy on a full time basis from the start of this season and combines his rugby development with studying at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Quarenden impressed when a Leeds Carnegie academy side beat Scotland U18's last season with an accomplished try scoring performance. He was captain of the South East Counties squad last season.
James Twomey
Like many in the Leeds Carnegie academy, Twomey spent last season on loan at Otley which has helped develop his all round game. He was the top try scorer at Cross Green last season scoring 14 tries in 18 games. He was part of the Yorkshire U20 side that secured County Championship glory as well as playing for North U18s. He is a real speed merchant who played a crucial role in the Leeds Carnegie U19 side winning the senior Yorkshire Cup back in 2009. He originally comes from Sheffield.
Curtis Wilson
18-year-old Curtis Wilson is the latest player to benefit from Leeds Carnegie's link to Prince Henry Grammar School in Otley and the AASE scheme. Wilson was in outstanding try scoring form for the Otley 1st team at the back end of last season, scoring six tries in eight games including a spectacular effort against Newbury. The quick and powerful wing has adapted quickly to the game at National 1 and is a genuine try scorer. Arriving at Prince Henry's as a raw athlete with no representative rugby experience the quality of the AASE scheme delivery and the focus on skill development has seen him subsequently play for North U18's as well as starring for Otley.
Tom Barrett
Tom has been the first choice stand off for Sedbergh School in Cumbria, the school that produced three former England captains in Will Carling, John Spencer and Wavell Wakefield, for the past three seasons. He is originally from North Yorkshire and has represented England at U16 level. He is a talented goal kicker and his game is naturally suited to the Sevens form of the game.
Christian Georgiou
Christian is very highly regarded at Leeds Carnegie having been the first choice full back for the U19 side for the past two seasons. He spent last year at Otley and proved to a safe pair of hands despite the rigours of life in senior rugby in National Division One. He was part of the Leeds Carnegie U19 team who won the Yorkshire Cup two years ago. He is originally from Halifax and attended Crossley Heath Grammar School in his home town, the same school as former England hooker Brian Moore.
