Wasps team to play Gloucester at the Ricoh Arena this Sunday

Le Roux Wasps

Director of Rugby Dai Young has named the Wasps’ side to take on Gloucester at the Ricoh Arena this Sunday, in round 16 of the Aviva Premiership.

The match will kick off at 1pm, to allow fans to watch the RBS 6 Nations match between England and Italy on big screens in the Ericsson Exhibition Hall following the Premiership game.

Springbok Willie Le Roux is named in Wasps’ starting line-up, set to make his home debut at the Ricoh Arena, having impressed off the bench against Sale Sharks. The only other change to last Sunday’s squad sees Joe Simpson start at scrum half.

Looking ahead to the game, Wasps’ Director of Rugby Dai Young said: “After back-to-back away games, we’re all looking forward to being back at the Ricoh Arena this Sunday, when we have an opportunity to put things right after last weekend’s disappointing defeat.

“As I’ve always said, it’s about how you respond to the bumps in the road that shows the true measure of the squad and I expect a good response and performance this weekend.

“We know how tough a challenge it will be against a Gloucester side who beat us at Kingsholm earlier this season and who will be coming into this match full of confidence, off the back of beating the defending champions, Saracens.”

The Varsity Finale between Coventry University and University of Warwick will take place on the pitch after the match between Wasps and Gloucester.

Wasps will also launch our 150th Anniversary Season Membership this Sunday at the game. Visit wasps.co.uk after the match for more information about what to expect in our 2017/18 150th season.
