Warriors to link-up with global brand Under Armour

Worcester Warriors have today announced a new agreement with global sports brand Under Armour, the US-based leader in performance apparel, footwear and accessories.

The three-year partnership sees Under Armour become the Club’s official Technical-Wear Partner.

The announcement, made ahead of this summer’s new kit launch, will see the Club’s official Technical-Wear Partner design and develop training wear and matchday performance apparel for both the first-team and Three Pears Warriors Academy squads, adding to the brand’s rich heritage within Rugby Union.

Warriors will join an elite selection of brands and individuals to wear Under Armour products, including the Welsh Rugby Union, Top 14 giants Clermont Auvergne, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, NBA star Steph Curry and the world’s number one golfer Jordan Spieth.

Warriors Chief Executive Jim O’Toole said: "We welcome Under Armour to the Warriors commercial family. To attract a brand of this size and calibre shows the progress the Club have made since returning to the top-flight last season.

"This partnership is the first of many we hope to announce in the next few months as we aim to build our partnership portfolio off the field to back-up the excellent work that Dean Ryan and his team are creating on the field."

Warriors High Performance Director Nick Johnston added: "We are always striving to improve all areas of our performance.

"To have a brand of the quality of Under Armour supporting us and providing apparel, which is designed and developed to make athletes better, is a huge boost.

"Under Armour are respected worldwide for their attention to detail, innovation and their commitment to working alongside athletes to ensure their elite performance line is at the cutting edge of their chosen sport, helping to improve performance."

Managing Director at Under Armour Team Sports Damian Cooper said: "We are delighted and privileged to add Warriors to our list of professional Rugby Clubs carrying the Under Armour logo.

"We would like to thank everybody at the Club for this opportunity and look forward to working with them over the next three years.

"Warriors’ traditions and dedication to the game are a great fit for what we stand for at Under Armour."

The new Under Armour kit will be available in the Sixways Store and online at warriors.co.uk in time for the new season.

Founded in 1996 by current President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, Kevin Plank, Under Armour are the originators of performance apparel – gear engineered to keep athletes dry and light throughout the course of a game, practice or workout. Recognised as the fastest growing performance brand in the United States, Under Armour has an unrivalled reputation for innovation with every product designed to improve athlete performance.
