Saints team named for Aviva Premiership Return

The Northampton Saints side for Friday evening’s visit of London Irish has been named, with a number of senior names returning to the starting XV under the Gardens lights.

With England confirming and unchanged 23, Stephen Myler and Calum Clark both come into the Saints’ starting lineup, Saxon Alex Waller also returning.

Among the backs, James Wilson and George Pisi wear 15 and 13 respectively, while Salesi Ma’afu, Samu Manoa and Christian Day are all included in a pack captained by Phil Dowson.

Franklin’s Gardens is fast approaching a dozenth sell-out of the season and with no TV coverage of the Aviva Premiership clash (KO 7:45pm), less than 200 tickets remain here.

In this week’s Saints podcast, Jim Mallinder, Salesi Ma’afu, Tom Stephenson and Mike Haywood all preview the weekend’s action, while Luther Burrell looks ahead to England versus Italy. Download it for FREE here.
