Saints name team for Anglo-Welsh Cup opener

The Saints team has been named for Sunday afternoon’s trip to Newcastle in the Anglo-Welsh Cup.

As has been the case in previous years, youth is given a chance to shine alongside experience, with Lewis Ludlam making his senior debut in the back row of a side skippered by Christian Day.

There are also first starts at the club for match day regulars Charlie Clare and Api Ratuniyarawa as well as Jordan Onojaife – one of seven Saints Academy graduates in the starting XV.

Meanwhile, five further faces among the replacements could make their bows in black, green and gold.

The game, which kicks off at 3pm, is not being shown on television, but supporters can still follow minute-by-minute updates on the go at www.saintslive.co.uk.
