Ricoh Arena announces new partnership with Majestic Commercial

Visitors to the Ricoh Arena will be raising a toast to the venue’s new multi-year partnership with Majestic Commercial.

The landmark agreement means that Wasps, the professional rugby union club and owner of the Ricoh Arena, one of the UK’s leading sports, business and entertainment arenas, has become the first rugby club to secure such a deal with Majestic Commercial.

Majestic Wine is the United Kingdom's largest specialist retailer of wine, with 213 stores nationwide. Majestic Commercial was named House Wine Merchant of the Year at the Sommelier Wine Awards 2014 and joint winner of the Great Value Merchant of the Year award in 2015.

As part of the partnership with the Ricoh Arena, Majestic Commercial will provide special offers to Wasps’ Season Ticket Holders and hospitality guests, working alongside guests to select preferred wines for the upcoming season, hosting wine-tasting evenings and providing sommeliers at selected matches.

The announcement follows Wasps’ recent 15-year partnership extension with service provider Compass Group UK & Ireland and the addition of global sports brand Under Armour as the club’s new Technical Kit Wear partner. Majestic Commercial join the brand family which includes; Ricoh, Jaguar Land Rover, E.ON, EMC2, DS Smith, Under Armour and Pins & Stripes.

Andy Gibb, Managing Director of the Ricoh Arena, said: “This is fantastic news for the Ricoh Arena as we continue to build on our reputation of providing a first-class experience for visitors.

“The partnership with Majestic Commercial will give guests an extra reason to enjoy their match-day, business or entertainment events at the Ricoh Arena.”

Luke Organ, Group Commercial Director, Wasps, said: “We are thrilled to have partnered with Majestic Commercial the business to business division of Majestic Wine, one of the most recognisable specialist wine retailers in the country. We are also proud that, through what we can offer both on and off the field at the Ricoh Arena, Wasps is now in a position to attract brands of Majestic’s calibre.

“We always look at how we can improve a visitor’s experience here at the Ricoh Arena and I am sure our Season Ticket Holders and hospitality guests will enjoy the added social benefits provided by Majestic Commercial, who are determined to put the customer at the heart of this partnership.”

Ben Nicholl Commercial Director at Majestic Commercial said:

“At Majestic Commercial we specialise in working with food led pubs & restaurants and in more recent years has diversified to also dealing with multipurpose venues with great success and feel that working with the Ricoh Arena is a great fit!  We have been attracted by Wasps’ ambition to break the mould and try new things as they search for success at the top end of professional sport, business and entertainment. We are delighted to be accompanying them on their exciting journey, following their move to the Ricoh Arena.”
