Premiership Rugby clubs in live TV European action

BTSport-1301

European action is back this weekend and seven Premiership Rugby clubs feature live on TV.

It’s tight in Pool 2 – where the live TV coverage begins – Exeter Chiefs travel to Bordeaux-Begles. ASM Clermont Auvergne top the pool on 14 points, with Ospreys in second position on 12 and Exeter Chiefs on 10. The game will be live on Sky Sports kicking off at 1pm on Saturday.

Following Chiefs, Saracens will be able to seal their place in the European Rugby Champions Cup knock-out stages if they can continue their European winning streak. Saracens v Ulster Rugby is live on BT Sport at 3.15pm on Saturday.

Bath Rugby were the victors when they faced Leinster Rugby at The Rec on 21 November (Bath Rugby 19 – 16 Leinster Rugby) and they will need to secure an away victory to stay in contention in Pool 5. Leinster Rugby v Bath Rugby is live on Sky Sports at 5.30pm on Saturday.

Leicester Tigers v Benetton Treviso complete Saturday’s European Rugby Champions Cup action at 7.45pm on BT Sport. Victorious in all nine previous meetings with Benetton and having only lost one of their last 30 home games in the Champions Cup (W27 D2), Leicester Tigers will be favourites to secure their place in the quarter finals this weekend.

Sunday sees Wasps make the trip to Toulon with kick-off live on BT Sport at 3.15pm. After their victory over Bath last weekend, Toulon have closed the gap on Wasps to two points so the winner of this game will top Pool 5.

Northampton Saints v Glasgow Warriors is the last European Rugby Champions Cup game of the weekend live at 5.30pm on Sunday on BT Sport. Northampton Saints have won five of the seven encounters when these teams have met in Europe previously.

Harlequins are the Premiership Rugby representatives in live TV action in the European Rugby Challenge Cup. Quins’ game against Cardiff Blues is live on Sky Sports at 3.15pm on Sunday. Jamie Roberts and Adam Jones may face their former club as Harlequins aim to do the double over the Blues after their victory in their first European meeting on 19 November (Cardiff Blues 20 – 32 Harlequins).
