The LV= Cup final four defeat was particularly galling as they fell 21-15 to a Sale Sharks side they had already beaten home and away in the league.
The capital club have looked like a team possessed as they bid to right the wrongs of that defeat this time around, beating London Wasps to kick off their LV= Cup campaign before thumping Scarlets 51-10.
This put them top of pool one with a comfortable six-point margin already, but Botha believes Saracens won't be slowing down any time soon as they aim to completely wipe last season's nightmares from their minds.
"We definitely feel as though we have the squad to do a job in any competition, and especially at Saracens the ethos we have is that we want to win every game," he said.
"We are trying to take it game by game and our focus is on this weekend but everyone wants to get our hands on some silverware after what happened last season.
"Everyone here wants to put right what happened last season. We lost in all three semi-finals last season and even though we did well to get that far we felt as though we should have got our hands on some silverware.
"But this year is all new and we have been going well in all competitions and hopefully that can continue in the LV= Cup against Newcastle this weekend.
"We were pleased with the score we put on against Connacht in the Heineken Cup. We are finishing our chances off well and we hope for more of the same against Newcastle."
Saracens' desire to win every game they play even stretches to friendlies with Super Rugby's Sharks visiting Allianz Park on Saturday - 24 hours before the Falcons come to town.
Botha has been named in the Sarries squad to take on the team from his homeland and even though there is no prize on offer but pride - the lock wants his teammates to go all out for the win.
"It will be a great occasion against the Sharks and even though it is a friendly we want to mark the occasion with a win," he added.
"I think a lot of people across the world will be watching it, in South Africa and England, and it will be a special game I'm sure.
"It is another good run out for some players and it is a game we are taking seriously and we want the win."
