London Irish confirm 2017/18 pre-season schedule

Topsy Ojo

London Irish have confirmed their 2017/18 pre-season schedule, which will see Nick Kennedy’s men face Harlequins and Ealing Trailfinders as well as taking part in the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s.

The Exiles host Harlequins at Hazelwood in the annual Cunningham Duncombe Cup on Saturday 12 August (kick-off 3pm), a fixture which Irish won 28-12 at The Stoop last year.

The Cunningham Duncombe Series is named in memory of former London Irish fly-half Jarrod Cunningham and former Harlequins scrum-half Nick Duncombe.

Irish then welcome Greene King IPA Championship side Ealing Trailfinders to Hazelwood on Friday 18 August (kick-off 7.30pm). The west London club secured a play-off spot in the Championship last term and will undoubtedly provide the Exiles with a stern test ahead of the new season.

The Exiles round off their pre-season schedule against Richmond at the Athletic Ground on Saturday 26 August (kick-off 3pm).

The Singha Premiership Rugby 7s kicks-off the Exiles’ pre-season rota, with this year’s competition held at Franklin’s Gardens on Friday 28 July and Saturday 29 July.
