Jones, Horwill and Luamanu to make Harlequins debuts

Harlequins has announced the squad to play Wasps at The Stoop on Friday evening in Round 1 of the Aviva Premiership, kick-off 19:45.

British and Irish Lion Adam Jones will make his senior debut for the Club alongside former Australian captain James Horwill and number 8 Mat Luamanu.

Jones is joined in the front row with Mark Lambert and Dave Ward, while Sam Twomey partners Horwill in the second row.

Jack Clifford and Luke Wallace complete the forward pack alongside Luamanu.

In the backs, Karl Dickson starts at scrum-half with fly-half Nick Evans named as captain.

Harry Sloan and George Lowe make up the midfield pairing as Marland Yarde, Charlie Walker and Ollie Lindsay-Hague feature in the back three.

Among the replacements, Joe Marler, Nick Easter and Mike Brown are named after returning from England duty during Rugby World Cup 2015.

Club captain Danny Care suffered a back spasm following England’s victory over Uruguay and was not considered for selection. Care, alongside Chris Robshaw, will be available for selection next week for the trip to Leicester Tigers.
