Haywood hits his hundred in LV= Cup semi-final

Mike Haywood will become the third Northampton Saints player to make his 100th first team appearance for the club this season after having been named in the starting line-up for Saturday’s LV= Cup semi-final against Saracens.

Haywood is one of just a handful of players who remain in the Saints’ starting line-up from last weekend’s Aviva Premiership Kingsholm classic as the coaches look to freshen things up in the season’s first semi-final.

There is a notable return to action for flanker Jon Fisher, who makes his first appearance since the LV= Cup Round 2 trip to Parc y Scarlets in November.

Phil Dowson captains the team from the back row.

Saturday’s action from Allianz Park will be shown live on Sky Sports from 12noon, with text commentary also available at www.saintslive.co.uk

Defence coach Alan Dickens and Tom Collins chat about the trip to Barnet in this week’s podcast, which is available for FREE on both SoundCloud (www.soundcloud.com/official-saints-rugby) and iTunes (search for ‘Northampton Saints’). The podcast also includes Courtney Lawes and Luther Burrell featuring England’s Six Nations clash with Scotland and a special feature on the Rugby4All girls tournament held at Towcestrians RFC earlier in the week.
