Harlequins sign Worcester Warrior Charlie Mulchrone

Harlequins can announce today (Tuesday 5th April) that Worcester Warriors’ scrum-half Charlie Mulchrone has signed for the Club and will join in July ahead of the 2016/17 season.

Commenting on the news, Harlequins Head Coach John Kingston said: “We have been monitoring Charlie for a couple of years and are very excited to finally be able to bring him to Harlequins next season.  He fits perfectly with the style of nine we need at the Club and I am sure he will push on very quickly within our structure working alongside Danny Care and Karl Dickson.”

Qualified to play for both England and Ireland, the 26 year-old has made 42 appearances for Worcester since joining in 2014, scoring nine tries.

The Manchester-born British and Irish Cup winner, brother of London Irish centre Fergus, previously captained RFU Championship side Rotherham Titans, a side which he made 52 appearances for.

A threat from all over the park, Mulchrone’s skill set and attacking capabilities will complement Harlequins’ expansive attacking style of play.

Confirming the news, Mulchrone said: “I’m delighted to be joining such a prestigious club as Harlequins. The brand of rugby is one I am a huge advocate of and players seem to play with a smile on their face.

“There are so many quality players in the squad and I am looking forward to contributing to their success going forward. I would like to thank Worcester Warriors and will continue to give my all to the club until the end of the season.”
