Harlequins has today (Tuesday 26th July) confirmed that it will travel to San Francisco, California, later this week for a pre-season training camp as the Club prepares for the 2016/17 Aviva Premiership campaign.
Arriving in San Francisco on Saturday 30th July, the Club will spend the week training at the San Francisco Golden Gate Rugby Club, departing back to the UK on Sunday 7th August.
The tour, organised as part of Harlequins’ strategic partnership with USA Rugby, will allow the players and coaches, led by Academy and Global Development Director, Tony Diprose, to activate and engage with the local community, while helping to expand the sport in the USA and North California.
Commenting on the tour, Diprose said: “We are incredibly excited about travelling to San Francisco later this week. This trip provides the squad with the ability to prepare for our 150th season in a completely new environment.
“Most importantly though, it provides Harlequins the platform to expand its name, and the game of rugby, to a captive audience which we hope will grow participation and awareness in sport’s biggest market.”
