Gloucester Rugby unveil new shirt to be worn for Remembrance Day

For the first time, Gloucester Rugby will be wearing a uniquely designed shirt featuring a poppy design to mark Remembrance Day for their matches on 5 and 12 November.

The shirt, produced by Gloucester’s official kit supplier XBlades, will be worn for the Anglo-Welsh fixtures at home to Saracens on Saturday 5 November and at Northampton Saints on Saturday 12 November.

The limited edition retains the traditional Cherry and White hoops, but the cherry hoop incorporates a poppy design. £5 from the purchase of each shirt will be donated to the Royal British Legion, and Gloucester believe that they are the first rugby union club to partner with the Royal British Legion in this way.

The Saracens’ match day has been designated as Forces Day by the club and will have, as in years gone by, a military theme including a minute’s silence, bomb blast demonstration, a bugler playing the Last Post and a bucket collection around the ground.

The shirt is available right now, as a limited edition purchase, both online and from the Megastore at Gloucester Quays. It will be available at the club shop at Kingsholm in time for the Saracens’ game next weekend.

Sizes from 8 years to 14 years for the junior version and from small to 5XL for the adult equivalent are available.
