Gloucester name young side for LV= Cup tie at London Welsh

With a number of players away on international duty and a short turnaround next week, Gloucester Rugby name a young side for Sunday’s LV= Cup match at London Welsh.

Aled Thomas will captain the side from fly half and he is joined at half back by Callum Braley, who will make his first start after a summer move from Bristol Rugby.

Gareth Evans continues his return to full fitness as he again lines up at number eight with Dan Thomas and Lewis Ludlow completing the back row.

Academy hooker Luke Cole makes his full debut for the Cherry and Whites in the front row, with Yann Thomas and Shaun Knight continuing in the front row.

Second row Tom Hicks makes his first start of the season alongside Elliott Stooke, with flyer Steph Reynolds also in line to make his first appearance of the campaign.

The team is led this week by Nick Walshe, and he has plenty of youthful potential at his disposal amongst the replacements with Will Goodrick-Clarke, Jack Spencer, Will Safe and Harry Bassett all experiencing their first involvement in the first team squad.
