Flying duo return for trip to Donnybrook

AWatson-Bath-2508

Anthony Watson and Semesa Rokoduguni will make their first start in Bath Rugby’s pre-season campaign against Leinster at Donnybrook Stadium in Dublin this Friday (k.o. 19:30).

Watson is deployed at fullback as Rokoduguni lines up on the right wing, whilst fellow wing Jeff Williams retains his place in the starting team for the third consecutive week.

The midfield pairing of Dan Bowden and Max Clark is back, having helped Bath open their pre-season account with a victory against Yorkshire Carnegie a fortnight ago. Also returning for another outing are half-backs Kahn Fotuali’i and Rhys Priestland – at nine and ten respectively – who started in last Saturday’s win against Scarlets in Parc Eirias.

Nick Auterac is named at loosehead, Ross Batty at hooker and Henry Thomas at tighthead. There is an all-international partnership at second row, with Wales’s Luke Charteris and England’s Dave Attwood starting together for the first time.

A strong back row sees Matt Garvey – who dons the captain’s armband – on the blindside, David Denton at openside and Taulupe Faletau at number eight.

The match in Dublin will be Bath’s final pre-season fixture before their Aviva Premiership campaign begins away to Northampton Saints on Saturday 3rd September.
