England squad update

England head coach Stuart Lancaster has retained 16 players for the remainder of the training week at Pennyhill Park.

Northampton Saints centre Luther Burrell stays with the squad to battle a calf strain, while Harlequins full-back Mike Brown is expected to return to training before the end of the week.

In addition, Ed Slater and Manusamoa Tuilagi (both Leicester Tigers) and Joe Launchbury (Wasps) will be in camp to continue their rehabilitation from injury.

“Mike Brown has progressed well and we hope to have him back in full training on Friday,” said Lancaster.

“The majority of the bench players and non-match day 23 will be released back to their clubs over the next 24 hours and be available for this weekend's Premiership games.

“We feel they will benefit from some game time and to put themselves in contention for the Scotland match, and we will give an update on those players tomorrow.”
