Champions Cup play-offs – referee appointments

England’s Greg Garner and Mathieu Raynal of France have been appointed to referee this weekend’s Champions Cup play-offs.

Garner will take charge of Friday evening’s tie between recently crowned Challenge Cup winners, Stade Francais Paris, and the Cardiff Blues at Stade Jean Bouin which will be broadcast live on S4C and beIN Sports.

On Saturday, the clash of Northampton Saints and Connacht Rugby at Franklin’s Gardens, which will be broadcast live in Ireland by TG4, will be refereed by Raynal. The appointments were announced today (Tuesday, 16 May) by EPCR’s selection committee which is chaired by the tournament organiser’s Head of Match Officials, Joel Jutge.

The play-offs will decide the 20th place in next season’s Champions Cup and the winner of the Northampton Saints v Connacht match will have home advantage in the Play-off final on Friday week (26 May).
