Bristol Rugby Team News: Worcester Warriors vs Bristol Rugby

James Newey is set to make his competitive debut when Bristol Rugby face Worcester Warriors on Friday (7.45pm KO).

The Academy centre – who signed professional terms in the summer – lines up alongside Gareth Maule for the Anglo-Welsh Cup opener.

Only David Lemi remains from the side that suffered defeat to Sale Sharks, as Bristol make fourteen changes for the Sixways clash.

“The Anglo-Welsh Cup is a new focus and an opportunity for us to find some momentum and confidence in our game,” Academy Backs Coach Sean Marsden said.

“We’ve selected a team that we believe can go to Sixways and win and we will be doing everything we can to get that first victory on the board.”

Hooker Edd Shervington is included among the replacements and could make his first outing for the Club if he features.
