Josh Beaumont caps his phenomenal season for the Sharks this weekend with an England call up for the clash against the Barbarians.
Beaumont was named Sharks' Players' Player of the Year earlier this month having firmly established himself in Steve Diamond's first team
And his reward for a brilliant campaign is the opportunity to shine at Twickenham in a white jersey on Sunday.
He revealed exactly how he found out his call up to the game: "I received a phone call from Graham Rowntree last week following the Exeter game and he invited me down to train. I am enjoying the training and the step up in pace and it's a great way to finish a season I have enjoyed from the start to finish."
Josh met up with some familiar faces when he started training with the England set up this week.
He said: "It's great that Danny Cipriani and Tommy Taylor are involved and my former team mate James Gaskell is down here. As well as training with Jamma, I am also rooming with him."
Josh's Sharks season finished with two tries at Exeter Chiefs. Can we expect a repeat if he gets an opportunity on Sunday? Josh laughed and replied: "It would be great to be involved in the game and if the opportunity arises to have a run, who knows!"
Director of Rugby Steve Diamond is delighted to see the big back rower get an chance to impress Stuart Lancaster.
He said: "Josh has had a great season at the club and is learning all the time. Working alongside Nathan Hines has helped him no end and I have every confidence, given the chance, Josh will go all the way to the top."
