Bath v Leicester through the years, by Bloggers’ Bench member Matt Price

A little over a century ago Bath Rugby and Leicester Tigers first faced each other, writes Bloggers’ Bench member Matt Price.

Tigers took the spoils in their first meeting, seeing them take a 17-5 victory. 
The bud of a blossoming battle had begun which would see some incredible conflicts.
The behemohtic battle that now exists between the two sides has seen some phenomenal games in the past but history shows Tigers have taken more spoils than Bath.
Tigers have lifted the Premiership title ten times since 1996, while Bath have only stood at the top of the pile just once before but losing out to Wasps in the 2003-04 final.
The professional era hasn't been such a smooth ride for Bath as it has for Tigers, yet in the wake of the Premiership Bath have held dear some of their encounters with their old Foe. Two such occasions have been pure nip and tuck rugby and won by two of Bath Rugby's South African heroes.
