Aviva Premiership Rugby Live on TV

The New Year arrives with a bang with four cracking Aviva Premiership Rugby games live on BT Sport 1 this weekend.

It all kicks off on New Year’s Day with coverage of Northampton Saints v Exeter Chiefs from 2.30pm.

Northampton Saints have an excellent record at Franklin’s Gardens in Aviva Premiership Rugby, with Saracens (twice) being the only side to win there since Exeter Chiefs were victorious in November 2014.

Exeter Chiefs are the form team in Aviva Premiership Rugby over the last six rounds, having dropped only two possible league points in that period. Chiefs have won three of their last four away games in the tournament.

On Saturday, BT Sport will show a mouth-watering double header starting at Allianz Park at 3pm for the 3.15pm kick-off between two recent Aviva Premiership Rugby Champions, Saracens and Leicester Tigers.

Saracens’ incredible recent record means that they have won their last 14 first team matches since 10 May when Exeter Chiefs beat them at Allianz Park in Aviva Premiership Rugby. This loss is Saracens’ only defeat at Allianz Park in any tournament since November 2014.

Leicester Tigers are also hitting top form having won their last seven matches in all tournaments since also being beaten by Exeter at Sandy Park in round 4 of Aviva Premiership Rugby.

The second part of the Saturday double-header, Sale Sharks v Wasps, kicks off live at 5.30pm. Sharks are unbeaten at home in any tournament since Harlequins won at the AJ Bell Stadium last April, while Wasps have won their last three away games at Leinster, London Irish and Bath Rugby.

Worcester Warriors v Harlequins rounds off the weekend on Sunday, coverage on BT Sport 1 starting at 2.45pm and kick-off at 3pm.

Worcester Warriors 20-29 defeat to Leicester Tigers in their most recent Aviva Premiership Rugby home game ended a three-game home winning run in the league.

Harlequins come into the match on the back of their unforgettable 39-39 draw with Gloucester Rugby, having only lost one of their last nine fixtures in all tournaments: 25-26 to Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park in round 5 of Aviva Premiership Rugby. Harlequins have achieved a try bonus point in each of their last seven matches in all competitions.
