Aviva Premiership Rugby Live on BT Sport

BTSport-1003

This weekend sees the first Aviva Premiership Rugby game ever to be played outside England and viewers will be able to see all of the action live from America on BT Sport 1.

The Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey, USA will be the 35th different venue to host a Premiership Rugby encounter when London Irish v Saracens kicks off there on Saturday.  All of the action from this ground-breaking game will be covered on BT Sport 1 from 7.30pm.

Following Premiership Rugby’s announcement of a landmark multi-year media agreement with NBC Sports Group for the coverage of Aviva Premiership Rugby, the game will also be covered live on NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) at 3pm (New York time).

"Our approach to the game is that it is a must-win, we're in must-win games every week," said London Irish head of rugby operations Glenn Delaney. "And the reality is we're playing Saracens, it's as tough a fixture as you're going to get when you're taking on the champions.

"It is a home game and we want to play with the same passion and spirit that we do at home. Our home form has been very good and we have to replicate that at the Red Bull Arena."

Mark Durden-Smith and Ugo Monye are making the trip to America to present a special ITV highlights show from New Jersey.  There won’t be a highlights show on Sunday night but they will be presenting an Aviva Premiership Rugby round-up at 7pm on ITV4 on Monday which will be repeated on Tuesday at 12.05am on ITV4 and 10.40pm on ITV.

Before the game in America makes history, Friday night’s game kicks off in more familiar surroundings as Harlequins welcome Bath Rugby to The Stoop for another sell out. BT Sport 1 will be showing the game live from 7pm.

Harlequins have won one of their last six Aviva Premiership Rugby matches: at home to Leicester Tigers in round 13.  Bath Rugby picked up only their second victory since the New Year against London Irish at the Recreation Ground on Saturday.

Harlequins beat Bath 38-28 at the Recreation Ground in round 3 but have not achieved a Premiership Rugby double over them since the 2011-12 season. Bath have been the victors on their last two visits to the Twickenham Stoop in all tournaments.

The opening game in Saturday’s Aviva Premiership Rugby double bill sees 4th v 3rd in the table as Wasps host Leicester Tigers with just two points separating them in the league standings. The game will be live on BT Sport 1 from 1.15pm on Saturday.

Wasps have picked up 23 out of a possible 30 league points in their last six games and have not lost at the Ricoh Arena in any tournament since the start of the year. Leicester Tigers have just secured successive maximum point wins for the first time since the end of the 2013-14 season.

Leicester have won their last four encounters with Wasps since their 22-12 defeat at Adams Park in Aviva Premiership Rugby in October 2013.

Unless stated otherwise, all times are UK and Ireland Times
