London Irish face Edinburgh in European opener

London Irish kick-off their European Rugby Challenge Cup campaign at home to Edinburgh Rugby on Saturday, 14 October.

The Pro14 side, with Scotland internationals Duncan Weir and Ross Ford in their ranks, travel to the Madejski Stadium for a repeat of the 2014/15 Challenge Cup quarter-final.

Sergio Parisse’s Stade Francais Paris will be the next visitors to the Madejski Stadium on Saturday, 16 December (kick-off 3.15pm), before the Exiles welcome Russian side Krasny Yar RC to the Madejski Stadium on Saturday, 13 January 2018 (kick-off 3pm).

The Exiles’ first away trip sees them facing Stade Francais Paris on Saturday, 21 October (kick-off 7.45pm) and then Edinburgh Rugby on Saturday, 9 December (kick-off 7.35pm).

Irish take on Krasny Yar with a game on Russian soil for the first time in the club’s history on the weekend of 11/12/13/14 January 2018 to round-off their Pool 4 fixtures.

“We’re really looking forward to playing on the European stage again,” said London Irish director of rugby Nick Kennedy.

“I’m sure our supporters will be eagerly anticipating the visit of some top quality opposition to the Madejski Stadium. In true London Irish fashion, our supporters will undoubtedly create a fantastic atmosphere.”

Stade Francais Paris v London Irish – Stade Jean Bouin (kick-off 7.45pm) 

  

Saturday 9 December:

Edinburgh Rugby v London Irish – Myreside (kick-off 7.35pm)

Saturday 16 December:

London Irish v Stade Francais Paris – Madejski Stadium (kick-off 3.15pm)

 

Saturday 13 January:

London Irish v Krasny Yar RC – Madejski Stadium (kick-off 3pm)

 

18/19/20/21 January:

Krasny Yar RC v London Irish – TBC
