USA fixture tops billing of live TV matches for Round 3

After the plot thickened once again in another weekend of fascinating Aviva Premiership Rugby action, there’s some intriguing encounters on the box this week in Round Three – including a dust-up in the home city of Rocky Balboa, Philadelphia.

On Saturday, Newcastle Falcons host Saracens in the American city (kick-off 10pm) live on BT Sport, with Dean Richards’ side in confident mood after their best league start in 13 years.

Earlier in the day, Leicester Tigers welcome Gloucester Rugby to Welford Road (kick-off 3pm), with coverage starting at 2.30pm on BT Sport 2 and BT Sport 4k UHD.

Matt O’Connor’s Tigers have been wounded after two tough early-season fixtures, but with one of the best back-lines in club rugby they will be looking to bounce back and dent Johan Ackermann’s Gloucester revolution.

The weekend’s televised action begins under the Friday night lights, with a mouth-watering clash between Northampton Saints and Bath Rugby (kick off 7.45pm) live on BT Sport.

Saints looked back to their best in the East Midlands derby at the weekend, but face-off against a Bath side who have two wins from two and are led by the jet-heeled Semesa Rokoduguni.

Wasps will conclude the weekend’s four live TV games when they welcome Harlequins to the Ricoh Arena on Sunday, with the game kicking off at 3pm, live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport 4k UHD.

Dai Young’s Wasps beat Worcester Warriors 24-10 in Round Two, and having scored ten tries already, Sunday’s match-up looks to be a thriller with Harlequins also one of the Aviva Premiership’s most entertaining sides.

And for fans who miss any of the live action, they can catch all the highlights with Mark Durden-Smith and David Flatman on Channel 5 at 8pm on Sunday night.
